According to a recent article in Huffington Post, there are 7 main factors that attract men. Here they are along with my take on how these factors show in my heroines, the leading ladies I love to write about.

1. Confidence.

Confidence is not about thinking you are “perfect” but about thinking you deserve the best there is. A confident woman may not think her figure or face more beautiful than others. But she absolutely believes that whatever she looks like, she deserve to be cherished, loved and admired.

2. Ambition.

“Ambition gives someone a purpose, a drive, a direction in life. Ambition is sexy because it lets a man who has his own goals see his mate as a partner, a teammate, someone he can take on the world with — and that’s how a relationship should be.”

He may be a billionaire, but she doesn’t sit around waiting for him to take care of her.  She has dreams and she want to achieve them.

3. Passion.

“Passion for life. Passion for another person. Passion for an interest, a hobby, art, music, anything that drives you. To see a woman in her element and truly loving what she is doing is sexy.”

A romantic heroine feels things deeply, she loves with all her heart and when she touches her man, every nerve ending is alive with the passion of the contact.  For me, as a writer, passion isn’t just about graphic sex. I love sex and I love a great sexy scene, but passion is what makes the sex hot, from the first sharp inhale of breath, the brush of thumb over the curve of a lip.

4. Kindness.

“Kindness toward others is a disappointingly rare quality in modern society. Taking a few moments to go out of your way to talk to someone, showing compassion to another member of the human race, regardless of who they are or where they’re from, shows heart.”

Everyone wants and needs a soft kind touch, he may be a prince or a billionaire business tycoon, in his heart he wants to be loved, understood and forgiven. No short skirt, 6-inch stilettos or see through lingerie can tell a man that his woman will see, accept and love the best and worst of him.

 

5. Honesty.

"When a woman is genuinely herself and doesn’t change for anyone, it shows many of the above qualities all together. It also shows that she has enough respect for a man to be up-front with him and not hide anything.

How long will you stay in a committed relationship with a beautiful or handsome liar? If you cannot trust your partner or believe what they say, how can you construct a solid, lasting foundation with them? You can’t."

6. Class.

Designer labels and expensive clothes don’t make the woman classy, but a classy woman transforms the humblest outfit into something special. She can make a Gucci silk dress twice as gorgeous.

7. Intelligence.

“There is no denying that women’s looks are what initially draws us to them. It’s difficult to spot a great personality from across the room. Many a fling was built on physical attraction alone, but how long can it last?

When conversations lack depth or intrigue, we often fill our time with physical activity together, but it is impossible to build a real connection or lasting relationship with someone on that alone.”

I love it when the woman can see through the Armani suit and sports car to the real man, ‘gets’ him and will call him on any misconception. Nothing is sexier than a smart and funny woman who is more than a match for him in the brains department. Every research says woman are more emotionally complex, so our heroine will teach her man a few things about how to handle his emotions and find happiness.
